Arabic Rhinoplasty

Arabic Rhinoplasty

Arabic Rhinoplasty patients come into the category of Ethnic Rhinoplasty which is designed to enhance the changes in nose shape while also keeping the unique characteristic of one’s natural ethnicity. With Arabic patients, it is essential for the surgeon to create an approach that will capture the natural look of the patient. This means that a Rhinoplasty Specialist understands that performing a Rhinoplasty on a patient of European or Western background may appear to be unnatural for a patient of Arabic descent. The surgeon should also remember to maintain the primary function of the nose. It is imperative that the patient would be able to breathe well or better at the end of the procedure.

The unique features of an Arabic Rhinoplasty that distinguish them from other ethnic groups

Are they generally have a more prominent nasal bridge and often have a sagging nasal tip causing the nose to look extended. This commonly causes an unnatural relationship between their upper lip and nasal tip ratio. Both Female and Male Arabic patients often consider Rhinoplasty surgery to correct both the nasal hum and tip shape/size. Male patients often suffer from a deviated septum or crooked nasal profile.

Rhinoplasty can improve both the appearance of your nose, but also your breathing function. An experienced Rhinoplasty surgeon should address any irregularities in breathing whilst changes to the size of the nose are made, within the same surgery.

Achieving a better nose shape in Arabic Rhinoplasty patients can significantly improve the facial features of both male and female patients

There are three main specialisations to look for in an experienced Rhinoplasty surgeon that performs ethnic Rhinoplasty in Arabic patients.

NASAL BRIDGE

  • Refining and reducing the nasal bridge is considered as one of the most important factors when performing the surgery. Some patients of Arabic Rhinoplasty can benefit from either a straighter nasal bridge or even a slight curve to the bridge, depending on the features of the patient’s cheeks and jawline.

NASAL TIP

  • The hanging or bulbous tip is commonly present in Arabic patients. An experienced Rhinoplasty surgeon should be able to create an assessment of your nasal tip. They should be able to understand how the appearance of the nasal tip and bridge contributes to the overall appearance of the patient. As with all choices in tip correction, the nasal tip must appear more natural in size in relation both to a straighter bridge and the distance between the nose and upper lip. The tip must always sit at a straighter profile if previously sagging towards the upper lip.

SKIN THICKNESS

  • The thicker nasal skin often presents greater consideration by the more experienced Rhinoplasty surgeon. They should be able to analyse the thickness of the skin and what are the maximum changes that can be made to improve the nose profile from a front-facing profile.
