How does Liposuction differ from Vaser Lipo?
This traditional technique of Liposuction is used by Plastic Surgeons and is effectively a straight vacuum method of removing fat. As this is regarded as quite an invasive surgery, more often than not, patients undergoing liposuction are under general anaesthetic and require longer to recover.
Vaser Lipo was designed to take slightly longer in its method but is used by gradually sending ultrasonic sound waves into the fatty deposit to break it down and then smoothly remove it through a smaller cannula. This method proves to be less invasive with small incisions and more often can be carried out under local anaesthetic as a same day surgery without the need to remain overnight at the hospital. This also means a faster recovery time or around 7 days.

The procedure of Liposuction involves the removal of fat via more defined cannulas that is passed through the fatty tissue from a small incision made to the area of the body being treated. Ultrasound waves are directed into the fat to break it up into small deposits before a gentle suction process removes the fat cells.
The process generally will not affect any other connective or structural tissue so you receive a smoother result.
The procedure is done under either local or general anaesthetic depending on the number of areas you wish to have treated in the same visit. After surgery, patients are fitted with a compression garment to reduce any swelling and to keep the contoured results compressed. It also ensures the skin can reattach over the next few hours after the procedure. Patients are chauffeured home complimentary by our clinic same day or after an overnight stay at our hospital. How effective is Liposuction?
With Vaser Liposuction the results are immediately visible after the procedure and after the swelling has subsided final results will be around 3 to 4 months after the treatment has been carried out.
